People with ungodly sums of money normally irritate me (ex: Paris Hilton). But I have to admire Warren Buffet after his recent announcement that he plans to give away nearly all of his HUGE fortune to charity. Seriously. Buffet's fortune is pegged at more than 45 billion dollars and he's giving away 44 billion of it. 30 billion of it is going to the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, which is already the worlds largest charity. That foundation will have an endowment that is probably larger than the GDP of most of the countries it operates in.

Agreed - and extra points for not feeling the need to put his name all over it (in Gates' case I think it is less for ego and more the PR value and influence his name can lend to charitable giving... i.e. to me a beneficiary of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is probably something I'd be interested in donating to my own lil humble self...)
