I'm Back

OK, so after a long hiatus I've decided to start posting again. The reason for the hiatus? Nothing specific, just that work has been crazy, my life has been normal, and I really haven't had anything good to post about. I still don't, but I'll try and come up with something. So, what's happened since the last time I posted? Let's see...

The Holidays: What a whirlwind! The bf and I went out to California to celebrate Christmas with my mom. It was really nice to be out there although, sadly, my sister couldn't make it this year. She had just moved to Chicago (I know, seriously cold!) and just got a new job that so she really couldn't take the vacation days. After Christmas (we came back on the 26th) the in-laws came down to DC for a visit. Thankfully theyt didn't stay with us, but they did get to see out place, which they loved. For New Years we went to two separate parties (on opposite sides of the city no less) and it was at the second party that we earned the nickname "The Boozies." You see, we were both WASTED! From what I remember, both parties were good times.

January: This month was a nightmare for me at work. Tons of reports due, etc... There were a couple of days where I'd wake up early, go to work, come home around 9ish, eat dinner and go to bed. Only to start all over the next day. Not. Fun.

Muenchen: I did have a little respite in January when Taylor Jean and I went over to Munich for a few days. The trip was awesome! We went out a couple of nights to some bars, wandered around the city and went out to Neuschwanstein which, BTW, was way cool! Although let me tell you, Neuschwantstein (the Disney Castle) is billed as being right near Munch. Umm...not so much. It is a two hour train ride away. The train out there was fine, but the one back seriously blew. The heat was turned up way high and it was way crowded. To top it off, we had to stop at a station for about an hour becuase somebody had been hit by a train further up the tracks. Besides that, the trip was great. Especially since I got to practice my German a bit.

Let's see, what else...Oh, I haven't been to JR's in ages. You're probably thinking, OMG, is he ok? And the answer would be "yes." I've been trying to save my money for our trip to Australia at the end of the month. Wait, have I mentioned on there that I'm going to Australia? Well, if not. I am. and for Mardi Gras BITCHES!!!! It is going to be REDICULOUS!! The bf, Grace Jones, Taylor Jean and I are all going down there for 10 days. We are spending 6 days in Sydney and then 4 days in Auckland. I'm, of course, way excited for Sydney, but I think I'm more excited about Auckland sincce I've never been there. Ooh, and don't forget, it will be SUMMER down there. I'll be sure and think of all of you when I'm on the beach sipping Mai Tais.

I guess that's it for now, I'll leave you with a picture of Taylor Jean and I in Munich.
Oh wait, I almost forgot. I was in New York last weekend visiting with The BBC and Suman. And also went to Crobar where my favorite dj TOM STEPHAN was spinning. He was awesome of course. And, it turns out he'll be spinning in Sydney while we are down there. H. O. T.

10 Resons Why Gay Marriage Should Be Illegal

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Whoa!

So according to this post here which came from Star Magazine (the real star magazine, not Grace Jones), the cause of the breakup between Vince Vaughn and Jennifer Aniston was because Vince hooked up with the girl on the left. Wow. The picture below really doesn't do it justice, you need to see the big version at the link above.

A lot to catch up on

So I realize I dropped off the face of the earth there for a minute. I'll try and update a bit more regularly now that work has died down. As some of you probably know, every three months, for about three weeks, I get super busy as I have to send out a ton of quarterly reports to clients. Anyway, lots of things to catch you up on. In no particular order:

1) I'm in Los Angeles at the moment. Have been here all weekend but will be returning to DC tonight on the red-eye. Side note: I HATE red-eyes but they are just too damn convenient. Especially for those of us that are a little bit poor on vacation days. The weather here has been phenominal! Yesterday my friend and I went up to Malibu to hang out at the beach for a bit. After that we came back and went to the refurbished Griffith Observatory. It was neat, but there were WAY too many kids around.

2) Halloween (the actual day) wasn't very eventful. Grace Jones nd I played Civilization (shut up, bitches!) and then went to JR's. We only stayed for about 10 mins as it was a SHIT SHOW in there. Haven't seen it that crowded in ages. Line of the evening:

Grace: I see a lot of zombies in here...

Oh wait...those are trolls.

3) The Saturday before Halloween, Taylor Jean, Twin Sister and I headed up into the stix for a party hosted by this guy. Despite the great distances involved, we had a great time. At least from what I can remember. Towards the end things get a bit hazy. Why were things "hazy" you might ask? Well obviously we drank at the party. But not enough to be as wasted as I was. You see, sometime around 3 pm Twin Sister phoned me and the following conversation ensued:

Me: Hello?
Twin Sister: Hey girl, I'm bored. What are you doing?
Me: Not much, just doing a bunch of laundry. Why, what did you have in mind?
TS: Meh, I don't know. I have a half-handle of vodka here. I could bring it over and we can have afternoon tea?
Me: Hot!

So Twin Sister comes over, and of course we finish off the half-handle of vodka. And then some. Taylor Jean also stopped by and after we finished off the booze, headed to El Tamarindo for dinner (more drinks there), and then the party. El Tamarindo, BTW, isn't half bad.

4) As I mentioned before, I was in New York a few weeks ago to hang out with the BBC, among others, and to see Tom Stephan. Tom Stephan was obviously out. of. control. Crobar is an awesome space, with a great sound system. Top that off with fierce beats and you hae the recipe for a great time. Since this post seems to be all about posting conversations, let me offer you another one. This one takes place on Tom Stephan's message board:

Hey Tom,

[Miscellaneous message about the fun times deleted, not important to this post]

Thanks for the good times!
-Chris

PS. Two quick questions: Can you tell me what the second song is on your AgeHa podcast? And pretty please can you tell me what remix of Diddy-Come To Me you played Sat night?

Response:

hey chris

the second track on radio chumbo 2 is a mashup of the classic strictly rhythm track "raise your house" and "sexy f*ck". and that was the ATFC remix of Diddy handed to me by Diddy himself- did you see him up by the booth?

Hope to see you at Cielo in December!
T

Say what? Umm, nope. Didn't see him. Def missed that one. Was standing right there too. But as Grace so elequently commented: "Ya, Diddy could've walked right up and shook my hand and still I wouldn't have known..."

5) I'm trying to think if there is anything else. Got some new stuff for the house. The bf and I hit a bump but now we are ok and still going strong. No other big trips planned until Christmas when I go home to SF. Then of course there is Australia and New Zealand in March. Can't wait!

Under Construction

The dance floor at Crobar is currently under construction due to the holes we burned on Saturday night. Will post more about the weekend later, but in the mean time. Spam subject of the day:

"Summer is Almost here. Be ready"

Die Effing Week!

This week needs to die a horrible death. Work has been crazy. Crazy at work isn't anything new, but something about this week in particular has been brutal. Lots of putting out fires and not being able to get to the normal work that needs to be done. But anyway, that's the reason behind the lack of posts in the past few days/week. Let's see, what's new...

Oh, I'm going to NY this weekend. Should be a ball! Gonna get to hang out with The BBC, meet up with JC and of course...

TOM STEPHAN AT CROBAR!!! I don't know if you've been to Crobar, but the sound system there is off. the. hook! Victor Calderone is going to be coming on at 4 so we may even stay for some of his set.

What else....right. I don't think I need to tell you all how dissappointed I am that Jeffrey one Project Runway. WTF! His designs were good, I'll give him that, but I definitely think Uli should have won. And I definitely like Laura's collection better than Jeffrey's. Can't really argue with Michael coming in fourth though, his collection was terrible! I felt so bad for him because he seemed to have such good potential. Oh well. Can't wait for next season.

PS. This is totally random but if any of you have the following song, could you please give it to me? I used to have it but can't find it, and now I really want it. Thanks!

Funky Green Dogs - Rise Up (Rosabel Unreleased Mix)

I have can get all of the other mixes, just not this one. And this is the one I really want.

Question

Do you think chronic fatigue is considered a disability. One for which work should make a reasonable accomodation? Mayhaps, by giving me nap time?

I don't think that would be unreasonable.

Wednesday Randomness

1. The bf and I celebrated our one year anniversary this past weekend. We went to a nice dinner on Friday and rented a Flex Car on Saturday to head out to the country for a day. Only thing is, when we went to go pick up the car, we found out that it was stolen. Yes. Somebody had the nerve to steal a Flex Car. We postponed the trip to Sunday, which ended up being tons better weather wise. We went out to Harpers Ferry, which really is a neat little place.

2. So remember how I left my cell phone on the airplane in Tokyo, and was seriously angry that I had to buy a new one? You see, turns out I left it burried deep in my luggage, which I happend to discover over the weekend (three weeks after I purchased the phone). Range of emotions: Pissed (that I didn't actually lose my phone, but bought a new one). Then, bewilderment (honestly, how could I not have seen it in my bag, grumble). Then, elation (wait a minute, Cingular has a 30 day return policy, H.O.T). Sure enough I returned the phone and got my money back. And the process was entirely painless.

3. I'm going to vist a friend next month in L.A. I am excited because I haven't been to L.A. in ages and I could use some nice L.A. weather. Side note: I can only handle the city for a few days (max three) and then I begin to hate it. Los Angeles is like New York for me, love to visit, but could never live there. And before you bitches say "well I guess he just doesn't like big cities then." Not true I say. I just don't like New York or L.A.

4. I am so excited for the first half of the Project Runway season finale tonight. I REALLY hope Jeffrey gets kicked off for cheating. That would make me happy. Oh, along with every one else, I'm seriously disappointed in Michael's collection.

5. Why oh why can't the election be held tomorrow. Four weeks is way too much time for the Republicans to do something devious to boost their poll numbers.

Did you know...

...that 25 percent of America's children eat fast-food at least once a day?

Just some food for thought...
