Metro Announcement

Dear Metro Riders,

Due to the rising cost of fuel and electricity, metro will be instituting a Southwest style policy. Namely, if you are to big to fit in a 5sq foot area, or require two metro seats, you will need to purchase an additional fare card. Moreover, do no attempt to squeeze yourself into one seat as this will only serve to antagonize your fellow riders. We've devised a list of tips to help you decide if this new policy applies to you.

You will need to purchase an extra fare card if any of the following conditions apply:
  1. You need to slide sideways through the fare gate
  2. People can't get around you on the escalator
  3. You take up two seats on the metro
  4. You order the 20 mcnuggets large value meal, just for yourself
We apologize for any inconvenience this policy may cause however it is truly in the best interests of all our passengers.

Thanks,
-Management

Hmm. This seems like a better idea than my plan to reduce all the doors to a width of 10 inches.

Management would also like to remind these riders that eating food - especially your extra large bag of greazy french fries - is also prohibited!

Awesome - I love this new policy and am going to request that Boston's subway (the "T") implement it immediately without delay!
