Well I'm off to San Francisco this evening for a much needed mini-vaca. Most of you are probably thinking, "bitch you just had a mini-vaca all last week." To which I would reply, "Honey, that sickness and staying home from work was anything but a vacation!" Anyway, I'm finally starting to feel better now so it'll be nice to relax at home (on furniture) and enjoy hanging with the family. Plus the BF is running the San Francisco Marathon so obvi I'm gonna cheer him on.
PS. It has been over nine days since I've had a cigarette. Go me!!

Super Trooper
Well, I'm still sick. And not really any better than I was last week. I've made it a bunch of days now without smoking so that urge has finally passed. I am, however, starting to get a little concerned about this respiratory infection. I mean, it's been over seven days and I really don't feel any better. In some ways, I feel like a 75 year old grandma, one that needs to pause while walking up the steps, or gets winded walked to the kitchen. Yep, that'd be me. Then there's this horrible cough. It just won't go away. Sometimes it's fine, but others it creeps up on me and won't let go until I'm on the floor curled up barely able to breath.
But anyway, all of this is beside the point. I've realized two things this past week 1) I'm not as young as I used to be and 2) I've got the most amazing bf ever. I knew, even before I was sick, that I had the most amazing bf but this past week just drove it home for me. He has been an amazing trooper: running to the store, cooking dinner, taking care of me, etc while I wake him up in the middle of the night with my coughing fits and leave half empty cups of water all over the place. I'm sure he's just as fed up with this illness as I am but he hasn't said a word of complaint (ok, maybe one or two). I can't tell him enough how much I appreciate everything he has done for me this past week and I hope he knows that I haven't taken any of it for granted...

AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Well kiddies, this recent viral respiratory infection that I have has prompted me to try and quit smoking. That's right, I had my last cigarette on Tuesday afternoon. While it seemed like a good idea at the time, obviously I was delerious with fever. Seriously, what was I thinking?
Internal Monologue:
-Gee Chris, the sorry state of your lungs at the moment and your inability to walk to the kitchen, let alone the corner 7-11 to by a pack of cigarettes, really gives a great opportunity to quit smoking.
-That's a good point! I mean the fever, chills, sore joints, fatigue, general feeling of being in the 5th level of hell isn't enough. Let's kick it up a notch or two and go for level 7, we might as well add all the symptoms of nicotene withdrawal.
Well anyways, a day and a half later and so far so good. However, I'd really like to either a) sleep for the next 48 hours until this withdrawal goes away or b) slit my wrists.
PS. Obvi I'm to be avoided for the next day or two as I'll be liable to say nasty things to you that I'll regret later.

Hi all, I had planed on giving you all a nice weekend update yesterday, but instead I woke up feeling like death warmed over. Anyway I still at home, trying to recover from whatever nasty virus is infecting me I'll be sure and post more.
In the mean time, the Readers Digest version of the Weekend Recap.
The weekend was great, The Mean Girls plus Hurricane Josefina were reunited for the first time in ages! It was so nice to be back together again, if only for a weekend.
The Nation closing party was predictebly nuts. Now, we can debate the merits of the place for hours on end (drug invested hole vs. fun place to dance) but we can't debate the fact that Nation was the first gay club I ever went to 5 years ago or that, for good or ill, I spent many a night in those early formative years dancing the night away. I like to think of Nation's closing as the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in the life of Chris.
That's pretty much it. Went to JRs on sunday night got wasted. Came home. OOoh, we di go see Pirates II on Saturday out at Tyson's. Def not as good as the first one, but not bad either. Probably didn't help that we were seated in row 3.

Took a little break
Hey Kids, sorry about the little break I took. This past weekend was a bit nuts. Saturday night was the bf's birthday party which was a TON of fun. Thanks to all of you who could make it. The fourth of July started out great with a picnic in Rock Creek Park and watching the fireworks from our balcony. The night ended badly however, but won't go into details. \
I don't really have much in the way of news. Will hopefully have a more fun update for you very soon.
