Intentionally Cryptic

Note to CarMan, J: I owe you an apology for something I said to you over the summer. At the time, I didn't understand. I do now. So, I'm sorry.

Weekend Recap: The Abridged Version

Since this past weekend was pretty similar to the weekend before it, and the weekend before that. I figured I'd give you an abridged weekend update (Starting on thursday morning):

Woke up. work. booze. McDonalds. sleep. woke up. wooooooorrrrrrrkkkkkk. lots of booze at house party. cab. another house party though no booze. McDonalds. sleep. woke up. lounged around and watched tv. booze. McDonalds. walk to house party. more booze. sleep. woke up. lounged around. teeeny bit of work. booze. McDonalds. sleep. woke up. work. GYM!

I went to the gym yesterday and challenged the eliptical machine to a duel. I won. I needed to after the multiple McDonalds meals I ate this past weekend. I really wish that place wasn't SO damn convenient.

PS. My insane month of work is over. Expect more regular updates.
PPS. Met this guy at JR's on Sunday while hanging out with the Mean Girls. A great time was had by all.

A Gay Rapper? Who knew...

So I stumbled across this article in the Houston Press about a gay rapper named Twisted G. I'd heard vague rumors about this person but had never actually read anything about him. The article is pretty interesting. Some excerpts:

"If male rappers aren't boasting about their diamonds, clothes, cars or shoes, they're talking about the bitches and hos they're touching, teasing, fucking and squeezing."

And sample song lyric from "Run from Faggots," as quoted in the paper:

"That's when I called my dawgs and we hit the street / The three craziest fags that you'd hate to meet / So we headed out to this country bar / We drove around the back and we spotted the car / So we laid low then four came out / And when they turned around we stuck the gats in their mouth / We put them on their knees now they're sucking our dicks / We nutted on their faces and we're watching it drip."

Convo of the day (from Thursday)

Sorry that I've been a bit MIA. Work has been kicking my ass the past few weeks but it's finally starting to slow down. This convo was overheard at JR's on thirsty Thursday:

Anon #1: So, my boyfriend asked me if I've ever done a threesome
Anon #2: Ooo, what did you tell him?
Anon #1: I told him no.
Anon #2: Wait, so you lied?
Anon #1: Not technically. I haven't done a threesome, I've done three threesomes. So I didn't actually lie.
Anon #2: Whore.

Will update soon, I promise!

Sidenote: I was spotted by some very nice gentlemen at JR's last night who recognized me from my blog.

Yesterday was just one of those days... Met up with Grace Jones, the BF and Shirlington for a couple of happy hour drinks at Halo. Nothing spectacular to report, just for only being there and hour or two I had more drinks than were necessary. That and Grace broke not one, but two glasses. Or was one of them one of those candle thingies. Oh well.

Today is not as bad as yesterday was. And I downloaded a new song that is HOT:

Deep in the diskoteka
These beats can make you wetta
I have the sex you want
I have the sex to flaunt

I make the beat go boom papi
I make the beat go boom

Diskoteka (Kobbe & Austin Leeds Mix) - Starkillers which can be found here

Weekend Recap

Sorry for the mini-hiatus I've been on recently. Work has been nuts and I really haven't had anything fun to blog about. Anyway, here are some key points from the weekend:

Friday: The bf and I headed over to Twin Sister's place for movie night, along with his new bf Blondie. I was tasked with bringing to booze so I figured I get a handle of vodka and we'd have a drink or two and save the rest for later. Not a chance. Obvi we finished the handle, and in quite a short time I might add. We ended up watching Wedding Crashers which wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be, but we took like an hour long intermission and the last half of the movie is kinda a blur.

Saturday: The bf and I met up with Grace Jones at JR's and waited for Twin Sister to show up. Two hours later then promised he finally waltzes through the door at which point we hit decided for a change of pace and hit up Remmi's over on Capitol Hill. I actually kinda like this place and would frequent it more often if it wasn't out in sticks. And if they didn't charge a cover. I was quite happy that Chocolatte (the BBC) showed up. Couldn't tell you what time though. Side note: I've never actually met this person, but I'm 99% certain I know who he is (that and Ms. Jones basically asked him), I would have said hi but I was way to drunk and would've come off as a sloppy mess.

Sunday: Slept in, went to work, went to JR's at 630 to find Twin Sister and Blondie sorority-formal wasted. I mean, they. were. wasted. Totally incoherent. Finally Grace Jones showed up with Chocolatte in tow. Nothing spectacular happened...oh wait...I do remember Grady being kicked out for some reason or other. Those of you that were at JR's last night, he was the big tall guy in the Steeler's garb (that's football), kinda hard to miss.

Song of the Day

I Want More feat. Amuka - Offer Nissim

I feel like Amuka dropped off the face of the earth after she did the vocals for Appreciate Me (I'm sure you all remember that track, circa 2003, that TORE UP the dancefloors). On the first listen through I was kinda "eeh" about this track, but now that I've listened to it a few times I've really started to like it. Give it a go, if you can find it.

Weekend Review

I pretty much drank my way through this past weekend, starting on thursday night and ending on Monday morning.

Thursday: There was a Mean Girls reunion of sorts at JR's for all you can drink. Naturally we took the show on the road to the GL for Shirtless men free booze.

Friday: Went with Grace Jones, Twin Sister and Scott to Bethesda to go to an army surplus store to get an outfit for the evenings festivities. We figured it was a safer bet than the leather rack. When we got back, Twin Sister and I went to Titan to meet up with his new new potential bf. Lots of scary looking leather guys. I'd say about 1 out of 60 were cute. If that. After Titan we went over to the GL to meet up with Grace Jones. Lots more scary looking leather guys. Managed to get pretty drunk.

Saturday: Since the bf had to work, I came in to the office to mess around on the computer and finish up a couple of things. Twin Sister called me at 330 to tell me he was already at JR's. Showed up at JR's around 4 and left at 630ish after 6 drinks. Hmmm. For some reason I was on a mission to go to Cobalt that night. I guess I needed to remind myself why we don't really go there any more as it might as well have been Apex on a thursday. Lots of 21 y/o's running around shreeking and causing drama. That and the music BLEW.

Convo of the evening, Twin Sister to the DJ:

TS: Can you play Dirty Filthy?
DJ: No
TS (with a mean nasty expression on his face, half screaming): WHY NOT???
DJ: I didn't bring it
TS: Oh

Me (to TS): What did he say?
TS: DJ sucks balls said he didn't bring it.
Me: ummm, DJ sucks balls?

Sunday: Woke up (still kinda drunk) and met up with a bunch of people at the Beacon for all-you-can-drink (and eat) brunch. Left there and went to JR's around 630. Things get hazy around 9ish but I think we went over to the GL and then went back to JR's to finish off the night.

Some observations: Message to bears/leather guys. Just becuase you are fat and ugly does not mean you should take leave of your manners. An "excuse me" here and there is so much kinder than just barreling through the bar like you own the place. And don't even give me that look when my drink spills on you. Bitch you knocked into me, that's what you get.

I love brunch on Sunday's. It is so much fun to have nothing better to do than sit for several hours drinking, eating and catching up with friends, new and old.

I'm going to need a liver transplant by the time I turn 30.

Grace Jones and Twin Sister wanted to see what leather weekend was all about, and I figured I'd tag along. We were all OVER IT by Saturday.

Convo of the Weekend:

Between me & Twin Sister:

Twin Sister: I kinda wanna smoke weed tonight.
Me: It's too bad you don't have a clue where to get it

Only a couple of people will truly appreciate this quote.

IM Convo of the Day

Between myself and Twin Sister:

[Twin Sister]: girl, I am just starting to come to...

Chris: me too
Chris: i think i'm going to take a nap

[Twin Sister]: I wish
[Twin Sister]: I asked scott (his boss who was also out last night) if we could have nap time today at work
[Twin Sister]: and he was like "we don't pay you to sleep"
[Twin Sister]: and I was like and "we don't pay you to play yahoo games"
[Twin Sister]: suck on my tits bitch

Last night witnessed a Mean Girls Reunion of sorts. Needless to say, I'm still drunk. Will write more when my head clears.

IM Convo of the Day

Between me and my office mate Kate:

Kate: So I just asked margaret [our receptionist] how she is feeling, she said, "eh, I have a migraine and a cough and sore throat"
Kate: She said it to me while she was LICKING THE ENVELOPES TO OUR PAYCHECKS

From Reuters via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. (Sorry no links, found this on Lexis

From Reuters: "Washington -- Quaker Maid Meats Inc. on Tuesday morning said it would voluntarily recall 94,400 pounds of frozen ground beef panties that may be contaminated with E.coli. "

Hmmm, I've heard of edible panties, but usually they are made of fruit rollup type stuff, not ground beef.

Found this via this blog.

FORT SUMNER, New Mexico (AP) -- A mouse got its revenge against a homeowner who tried to dispose of it in a pile of burning leaves. The blazing creature ran back to the man's house and set it on fire.

I know I shouldn't really be laughing at a man who's house just burnt down. But it really is funny. Karma is a bitch.

Eastward Bound

Well I've finally gotten my ticket to go visit Suman in Tokyo. February 15th-21st. I have to say that I'm UBER excited. And a little bit nervous. I've never been to Japan, or anywhere else in Asia for that matter so this will be entirely new for me. I've got Europe down pretty good though...

I'm excited to go someplace entirely new and different, and I'm sure that I'm going to have an amazing time. Suman will have only been there for two weeks when I get there, so I'm sure we'll have a great time exploring different parts of the city. Overall, I really have no idea what to expect. So if any of you have some tips on what to do, what not to do, what's a must see, and what's a must avoid. Please please please please let me know. I could use all the help I can get.

PS. For those of you that care. I'm flying United (obviously) from Dulles to JFK, and then JFK nonstop for THIRTEEN AND A HALF HOURS to Tokyo. That is one long. ass. flight. On my way back I'm flying through San Francisco and I'm now kinda regretting that decision. Originally I thought it be nice as my mom would come and meet me for breakfast or lunch at the airport (there are a bunch of restaurants outside security there). But I'm really not looking forward to the flight in economy on a 747. It is dreadful!

PPS. I know that Alison is in Japan, but I don't know where. I wonder if it's anywhere near Tokyo...

I finally went and saw Brokeback Mountain on Saturday with this guy, his boyfriend, and two of his friends. It. Was. Amazing. Here are a few points:

It's a true testament to both Heath and Jake's acting ability that I got totally emersed in the characters and didn't think once about who was playing them.

I cried like a little girl through the last 30 mins or so.

Both Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway performed flawlessly. Anne's blonde hair was FIERCE.

Overall, it's one of those movies that even after it ends, it just gets better the more you think about it.

Even if you aren't one to jump on the bandwagon, get over it. Go see this movie. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Friday, January 06, 2006

I've decided that since I'm gonna have to work this weekend regardless, I might as well be finished for the day. And since I'm finished for the day, I had nothing better to do than to do this little quiz thingie courtesy of The Sean Show.

Four jobs you’ve had in your life: Camp Counselor, Audio/Visual Assistant, Bank Teller, Media Analyst

Four movies you could watch over and over: Playing by Heart, Elizabeth, Hunt for Red October, Run Lola Run

Four places you’ve lived: San Francisco; Freiburg, Germany; London; Washington, DC

Four TV shows you love to watch: Lost and Project Runway are the only two I watch as, like Sean, I don't own a TV.

Four places you’ve been on vacation: Santo Domingo, Sydney, Stockholm, Stuttgart

Four websites you visit daily: Washington Post, FlyerTalk, BeatPort, and a whole host of blogs

Four of your favorite foods: Mashed potatoes, meatloaf, double quarter pounder with cheese (you should see me eat it), a bag of Utz potato chips (in less then a half hour)

Four places you’d rather be: Home in bed with a tub of Ben & Jerry's and a bottle of pinot, at the BF's in bed with a tub of Ben & Jerry's and a bottle of pinot, Lake Tahoe skiiing, or Tahiti.

Four albums you can’t live without: I can't think of one, let alone four. My musical taste changes so frequently that there is no gurantee what i'm listing to today will be what I'm listning to tomorrow.

Four magazines you read: The Economist, In Touch Weekly (gotta get my trashy gossip somehow), Airways, Newsweek (on occasion).

Four cars you’ve owned: I've only ever owned one car and it is/was an 1986 VW Golf. I loved my car, but it didn't love me back. I technically still have it but it doesn't run anymore. Now I own a SmartTrip card :-(

This thing did the job perfectly, now its time for me to go home. Have a good weekend kiddies, I'll be sure and think of you while I'm here at work tomorrow. And Sunday.

What the eff?

I just went outside and it's like 4 degrees. I was not this cold on my way to work this morning? And of course all I'm wearing is a thin long sleeve shirt. Grrrrr....

Convo of the Day

Between my office mate Kate and I:

Me: Kate, you might want to rethink that block of cheese. You look like you ate your way through the holidays.

Kate: Whatever. I wasn't the one that tore through an entire box of Wheat Thins yesterday.

Me: REDUCED FAT Wheat Thins. Besides, you eat Almond Joys like they are going out of business.

Kate: I haven't eaten an Almond Joy since the day I ate 10 fun size and got sick.

Thursday, January 05, 2006

The holidays are definitely over and now I have more work than I know what to do with. The smart me would have gotten started on some of it last week while know one was in the office. The real me decided that playing endless games if Minesweeper would be much more fun. My bad. Now I have to work this weekend, and of course I have no one to blame but myself.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006

I recieved this letter in the mail today. It reads:

Dear Chris & [Twin Sister]

Enclosed is an invoice for the amount needed to repair the holes you burned in our dancefloor. While we realize you and your friend were giving the fans a show, it is no excuse for the damage you caused. Please send payment immediately.

-Nation Management

OBVI Twin Sister and I had a ball at Nation on Saturday night. We stayed until 630, and the only reason we left was because I served a little too much body and face and pulled a neck muscle. Ooops. All I have to say is, the music was Out. Of. Control.
